In Zanac, the player controls the spaceship AFX-6502 Zanac as it flies through various planets, space stations, and outer space and through an armada of enemies comprising the defenses of the game's main antagonist—the "System."

Taking place four years after Star Soldier, the original galactic invaders known as the Star Brain corps have returned from their crushing defeat from the Cesear star fighter and they are now led by the ultimate spaceship, Mother Brain. Earth's only defense lies in the Neo Cesear star fighter to finish what was started.

The players assume the role of an alien-humanoid space pilot who has been exiled from their home galaxy for committing an unlearned crime. The only way the player character can return is to restore their honor; the only way to do so is to invade and defeat the alien invaders who have been known to frequently attack the player character's people using a ship called the Main Fighter.

The player's primary power-ups are bells that can be uncovered by shooting at the floating clouds where they're hidden. If the player continues shooting the bell after it appears, it will change into one of four other colors: the regular yellow bells only grant bonus points, the white bell will upgrade the player's gun into a twin cannon, the blue bell increases the player's speed (for up to five speed levels), the green bell will allow the player to create image copies of its ship for additional firepower, and the red bell will provide the player's ship a barrier that allows it to sustain more damage. The green and red bells cannot be combined together. Other power-ups can also be retrieved from ground enemies such as an alternate ...

The remaining royal guards of Mu are deployed in space fighters that can transform into cars to rescue the queen and crush the Galden forces.

A horizontally scrolling shoot-em-up that was unique at the time for featuring a game screen that was three times wider than the conventional size, with the arcade cabinet utilizing three CRT screens to accommodate it.

Taking place soon after Thunder Force, the ORN Empire creates a powerful new battleship, the Plealos (a.k.a. Preareos). Using this battleship, ORN once again attacks the Galaxy Federation. The outcome of the attacks result in the destruction of the Galaxy Federation affiliated planet of Reda, and heavy destruction on the planet Nepura (a.k.a. Nebula), which ORN eventually captures from the Galaxy Federation.

The world of video games provides plenty of inspiration for the newly announced "Space Force" of the United States. This particular design borrows inspiration from Seibu Kaihatsu's RAIDEN (which also falls in line with the 'lighting' part)

New stylized logo of the defunct, but well-loved arcade Japanese shoot 'em up maker Toaplan. Of course, they did games that weren't shmups, but those are titles they are mainly remembered for.

Another tee combining the love of video games and pinball into one. 1cc stands for "1 Credit Clear", which is a feat not many can achieve, and it is best found in arcade games where the games are tough and you have a single credit on the line. This term is particularly referenced with shmups/STG arcade games but it can apply to others where skill is king.

Mankind attempted to access the System and failed, causing the System spread throughout space and to exert mass destruction on all forms of life, including the human race. Mankind then discovered how to properly access the knowledge and technology within the System, but could not shut its destructive expansion down because of its vast tactical systems.

Xevious Arcade Cab... But On a Shirt!

The protagonist squadron must quell a massive guerrilla uprising headed by a ruthless dictator.

Known by a great variety of names, including Krill, Krell, Doppleganger, Dopkeradops, Dobkeradobs, Double Keratops, Gladiator - This powerful half-creature half-weapon is a combination of electronics and Bydo biological technology. It guards the entrance to another dimension opened up in a destroyed space colony.

Dragon Spirit is a vertical-scrolling shooter video game. The player controls the dragon Amul in his effort to rescue the princess Alicia from the serpent demon Zawell. Amul can move in eight directions and has access to two weapons; a flame projectile to destroy air-based enemies, and a bomb to destroy ground-stationed enemies, similar to Namco's Xevious series.
