Description: A detailed scientific illustration of a copper alembic heated over a furnace, its vapor rising, condensing in the beak and dripping into a glass receiver, set against a deep dark background. Jabir ibn Hayyan, the founding figure of Arabic alchemy in the eighth century, is credited with describing laboratory techniques such as distillation and crystallization. The word alembic itself comes from the Arabic al-inbiq. Made for chemists, chemistry teachers and anyone who loves the lab, it suits a laboratory, classroom, study or home office.
