Description: A wonderfully strange vintage botanical illustration featuring an anthropomorphic mandrake-like root with a human face, curling tail, and leafy crown. Perfect for fans of antique herbals, botanical oddities, folklore, witchy art, medieval illustrations, strange plants, and cabinet-of-curiosities imagery.
Description: This illustration features an unexpected duo: a forest cat wearing headphones standing alongside a grumpy mandrake root in the wild. Created in a distinct Folk Art style with Goblincore and Cottagecore influences, this design captures the mysterious essence of nature. A unique piece for those who appreciate mythical creatures, woodland aesthetics, and character-driven fantasy art.
Description: Decaisnea, known commonly as dead man's fingers, blue bean plant or blue sausage fruit, is a genus of flowering plant in the family Lardizabalaceae. It is native to eastern Asia, from China west to Nepal and south to Myanmar. This is a photograph of some of the first fruit on a specimen of this plant growing in my orchard in the West of Ireland. I've uploaded the image primarily for the "An Oddity in Your Backyard" challenge in the "BACKYARD MACRO AND CLOSEUPS" group because the steel blue fruit are definitely an oddity.
