He's best known for his 1974 album Silk Degrees. Scaggs has also played with notable musicians like Duane Allman, Steve Miller, and The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. In the early 1960s, he played in the Ardells with Miller, and from 1967–1968, he was the guitarist and occasional lead singer for the Steve Miller Band.
