Another Christmas dinner where the Brussels sprouts haters are about to be served those compulsory Brussels sprouts. Imagine the joy you'll have when saying these innocent words: "Oh no! If I had known you didn't like Brussels sprouts I wouldn't have put them on your plate!"
Description: ‘Brussels sprouts’ is a painting that I did for a group exhibition about childhood fears. I was a super fussy child and always dreaded dinner time. We didn’t actually tend to eat Brussels sprouts at my house… I guess my mum wasn’t into the either. But I know that they’re a commonly despised food among children, and I always thought that they looked like baby cabbages. The painting was originally done in acrylic paint and black ballpoint pen on canvas. I recently added to it digitally to make a digital image which will look good as a print. It’s intended to be cute if not slightly unnerving. I hope you like it :) 5% of my profit as an artist does towards preserving the rainforest
