Description: Welcome to Cardiff Candy Co., where sensible dietary decisions go to quietly disappear. Home of colourful lollies, retro favourites, suspiciously large bags of pick-and-mix and enough sugar to make your dentist start browsing real estate. A sweet little slice of Cardiff for anyone who believes adulthood should still involve choosing confectionery by the handful. Cool fact: The word “candy” ultimately traces back through French and Arabic to words referring to crystallised sugar.
Description: In 1869, workers digging a well in Cardiff, New York unearthed a ten-foot-four-inch stone giant—and one of America’s greatest hoaxes was born. Unearthed 1869 reimagines the legendary Cardiff Giant as a weathered 19th-century sideshow advertisement, complete with distressed typography, engraved stonework, and the irresistible invitation: “See it to believe it.” Part history, part humbug, and entirely unforgettable, the Cardiff Giant became a sensation that drew crowds, fueled arguments over science and faith, and proved just how badly people sometimes want an extraordinary story to be true. A vintage-inspired tribute to one of Central New York’s strangest chapters.
