Description: Organized class-conscious workers are all that's needed to rid the earth of the parasitic capitalist class. This political cartoon was originally from the May 1938 edition of The One Big Union Monthly, a monthly publication by the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). I have completely digitized, redrawn, and refinished this work of art, as well as rewritten the text for the sake of legibility - for the sake of preserving and archiving this important piece of labor history. The IWW still exists today, and if this political cartoon still rings true to you, even nearly a century after it's original publishing, you should consider looking up your local IWW chapter. Description: uke Gray is a surrealist/symbolist illustrator and painter. Born color blind he was forced to use an almost exclusively black and white colour palette, working with patterns and textures rather than color. Influenced by multicultural art techniques he works in traditional mediums of Graphite and Ink often combining and integrating techniques and patterns from different countries and cultures into his work.

Description: Stephen Bantu Biko (18 December 1946 – 12 September 1977) was an anti-apartheid activist in South Africa in the 1960s and 1970s. A student leader, he later founded the Black Consciousness Movement which would empower and mobilize much of the urban black population. Since his death in police custody, he has been called a martyr of the anti-apartheid movement. While living, his writings and activism attempted to empower black people, and he was famous for his slogan "black is beautiful", which he described as meaning: "man, you are okay as you are, begin to look upon yourself as a human being". Description: A vintage postage stamp tribute to Steve Biko, founder of South Africa's Black Consciousness Movement and one of the most important voices in the anti-apartheid struggle. This design uses a bold halftone portrait style, the South African flag as a symbolic mantle, and authentic stamp detailing — perforated edges and a guilloché wave background — to turn Biko's legacy into wearable, collectible art. Biko's philosophy of Black Consciousness taught that "the most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed" — a call to psychological liberation that helped ignite the Soweto Uprising and reshaped Black identity across the African diaspora.
