Edie Sedgwick Shorts

Description: This stark stencil portrait of Edie Sedgwick, gazing upward, evokes the haunting fragility and fleeting brilliance of the 1960s Warhol superstar. As the tragic heroine of Ciao! Manhattan (1972), Sedgwick embodied both the glamour and the devastation of New York’s counterculture scene. A muse to Andy Warhol and an icon of “It Girl” allure, her life was a whirlwind of fame, art, fashion, and addiction. The minimalist black-and-white contrast here reflects the duality of her existence—light and shadow, beauty and decay—while her upward gaze hints at longing, escape, and the fragility of stardom.
