Description: Crown Electric Company, Inc. of Memphis, Tennessee was an electrical supply business that served the trades. Founded in 1953 at 475 N. Dunlap Street, Crown Electric was a full service supply house that stocked everything a working electrician might need, and even delivered directly to their job sites. By 1956, the business had outgrown their original location and relocated to 353 Poplar Avenue, and while that building no longer stands today, the original Dunlop location does and has been a steel supply business for decades.
Description: Manny's Musical Instruments and Accessories, Inc., or more commonly, Manny's Music, was a New York City music store that claimed to have 'everything for the musician,' and from what we've heard, that was very true. Since opening their doors in Midtown Manhattan in 1935, Manny's amassed a client list of big names in the music industry and they adorned their walls with nearly 75 years of photos of artists and producers who frequented the store. Whether you were a local looking for your first guitar or a drummer in town on a national tour in need of a few new cymbals, Manny's was the place to go until they sadly closed their doors for good in 2009.
