Evil Kanji Shorts
Description: 1992's Army of Darkness takes place after the events of Evil Dead II and sees Ash transported to the medieval past, where he must battle an army of undead to retrieve the Necronomicon and return to his own time. Armed with his chainsaw hand and boomstick, Ash finds himself caught in the middle of a war between rival factions and the forces of darkness, forcing him to use his wit and weapons to fight and survive. The Japanese release of Army of Darkness was released under the name "Captain Supermarket," the title being taken from Ash's chosen vocation as a clerk at S-Mart. I guess some things just don't translate correctly, but whatever the case, we're glad this one went down the way it did, as it's totally groovy.
Description: Urotsukidōji: Legend of the Overfiend (超神伝説うろつき童子) is a Japanese erotic horror manga first serialized in Manga Erotopia between 1985 and 1986. Urotsukidōji focused on erotica, dark humor, and the supernatural, and beginning in 1987, was adapted into a series of original video animation (OVA) anime releases, much of which deviated significantly from the manga source material. The story follows Amano Jyaku, a mischievous, sociopathic demon/human hybrid, who is banished to Earth and ordered by The Great Elder to find the Chōjin, an unbeatable god of the demon world who is hiding within the body of a man. Meanwhile, a group of reptilian/amphibian demons want to find the Chōjin and use his power on behalf of the Queen of Demons.
Description: This piece began with an ai-generated image using the words "symbol of the witch." It was enhanced by TaLi to accentuate the raven and the hellhound. The fire dances with the Kanji for that element, overseen by a pentagram coin. The serpentine cross fills the center accompanied by 666, the 'devil's' number. This bold image evokes the idea of the evil dark being drawn into the domain of light.
Description: A fierce red Japanese oni demon mask with horns, cherry blossoms, and swirling clouds with "Fear No Evil" and kanji banner. Traditional irezumi tattoo style celebrating protection, warrior spirit, and fearlessness—perfect for martial artists and Japanese culture enthusiasts.
