Description: Chino Latino has closed after 20 years on Hennepin Avenue in Uptown. It was the spot where one might stumble into an underage Lindsey Lohan trying in vain to get served, or clamor with buddies around a crowded table full of dry ice fog belching Comsos, or where one could inevitably wander into the wrong side of the open air semi-unisex bathroom.
Description: Fuji Ya has closed after 61 years of serving Japanese cuisine and sushi in the Twin Cities. The Lake Street location was damaged during the Minneapolis unrest and did not reopen. Now, a bank-owned sign is parked in the parking lot.During the Minneapolis riots, the building sustained damage with smashed windows and graffiti. On May 7, the restaurant’s Facebook page announced a temporary closure. By May 30, the website message changed to a farewell message announcing the closure.
Description: Puffy white clouds drift over a small lake this landscape photograph taken at James H. "Sloppy" Floyd State Park in the North Georgia mountains. The shores are lined with tall pine trees that taper down to a small dam that separates the upper and lower lakes. It's a beautiful late summer day in the Chattahoochee National Forest in the foothills of the Appalachians. This is photo I took while I was camping and fishing in early September of 2021. The weather was spectacular, though the fish weren't really biting...though I did catch one bass. I liked the way the dam served as a focal point for the scene.
