Description: Queen of Olympus: the goddess Hera enthroned beside her peacock, in the style of ancient Greek black-figure pottery, with a lotus-tipped scepter, a Greek key band, and a weathered terracotta finish. A clean arched panel with the title built in. Greek-vase-inspired illustration, not an archaeological reproduction. For mythology lovers, ancient history fans, and anyone who likes their goddesses ruling.
Description: Hera, the Greek Goddess of Marriage and Fidelity, was married to Zeus (King of Olympus). The peacock was Hera's sacred animal, and was often portrayed as a matronly woman accompanying Zeus, wearing a crown, with sometimes a sceptre. Hera was often seen as a vengeful wife, married unhappily to a husband who had numerous affairs, and was very vain about her beauty. But which goddess (especially of fidelity) wouldn't be unhappy in such circumstances?
