The film is about a schoolgirl traveling with her six classmates to her ailing aunt's country home, where they come face to face with supernatural events as the girls are, one by one, devoured by the home.

Bush and his running mate Dick Cheney represented the Republican Party. The electoral race was close and ended controversially with Gore not receiving a recount of the votes in Florida as Bush won the election in the electoral college, despite Gore winning the popular vote. The 2000 election is remembered not only for its controversial finish but also for its deepening of partisan politics in the United States in the early 21st century.
