Description: HIM stands for His Infernal Majesty, a Finnish gothic rock/love metal band. The name was originally chosen in 1991 to represent a dark, "spooky" persona inspired by bands like Black Sabbath, but was shortened to HIM because it was more practical, sounded good in any language, and separated them from the Scandinavian black metal scene.
