Description: The Faravahar (or Foruhar) is a well-known ancient Persian symbol, primarily associated with Zoroastrianism, representing a winged disc with a human figure emerging from it, symbolizing the soul's journey, divine protection, and the core Zoroastrian principle of "good thoughts, good words, good deeds". While its precise meaning has evolved, it's widely seen as the higher self or guardian spirit (fravashi), guiding the soul towards spiritual enlightenment and union with the supreme deity, Ahura Mazda, and it also serves as a powerful secular symbol of Iranian heritage.
Description: The Lion and Sun (Shir o Khorshid) emblem was the historic national symbol of Iran, used on the flag for centuries and associated with courage, heritage, and national identity before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Today, it has been revived by protesters and the Iranian diaspora as a symbol of resistance and a call for a free, democratic Iran, rejecting the current regime’s rule and reclaiming a broader cultural identity. Its resurgence in online activism highlights both pride in Iran’s long history and unity in the struggle for human rights and political change.
