Jug Shorts
Description: Want to go cut a rug down at a place called The Jug? Well, Linda Lou and her gun-happy boyfriend probably won't be there, but an altercation between Ronnie Van Zant and another patron at The Jug Saloon in Jacksonville, Florida, inspired one of Lynyrd Skynyrd's most memorable songs. You can still go grab a beer there, though it's worth noting that it was called the West Tavern when Van Zant had his run-in. The band changed the name of the bar to make it sound cooler and the bar returned the favor a few years ago in a nod to the hit song.
Description: Emmet Hopes You Have a Great Jug-Band Holiday! Grab one now for the upcoming holidays! There are a lot of fake sellers out there on Teepublic and Redbubble stealing people's designs and selling them as their own. Stay away from those "otter" ones (get it?) and buy the original!
Description: Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions (MMUJC) was a band that played traditional jug band folk music using traditional musical instruments such as guitar, mandolin, and banjo, combined with homemade instruments, including washtub bass, washboard, kazoo, and, eponymously, a jug, played by blowing into it as if it were a brass instrument. MMUJC recorded a single self-titled album live at the Top of the Tangent coffee house in Palo Alto, California in July 1964.
