July 1996 Shorts

Description: Red Rocket was a short-lived emo punk/post-hardcore band from the greater Seattle area that earned a devoted following among those lucky enough to experience their explosive live shows. The band debuted with a cassette EP in 1994, followed by a 7-inch single in 1995 and their lone full-length album, July, on Excursion Records in 1996. In true DIY style, some early copies of July sold at shows included real firecrackers tucked into the CD spine—a fitting touch for a band whose live performances were as intense and unforgettable as their music. Sadly, not long after July's release, the band called it a day.
