Description: Seneca was one of the stoic philosophers in ancient Rome. Despite sexist remarks made in much of his writing, this statement was sincere given that a personal experience in his life inspired it. He had an aunt who’s husband had recently passed away overseas and she was taxed with the duty to bring his body home for proper burial. She endured violent storms on the ship in addition to a shipwreck which took a great to toll on her health and wellbeing. Still, after all was said and done she managed to complete the task. These words are a tribute to her in part and her efforts. All in all, it is still true, speaking of women as a whole.
