Description: Pig ’N Pancake has been an Oregon Coast institution since May 1961, when the first tiny restaurant opened in Seaside. The original restaurant only seated 35 customers and closed each afternoon at 2 p.m., but its homemade pancakes and casual family atmosphere proved popular enough to fuel expansion along the Oregon Coast, opening in Astoria in 1967 and later adding locations in Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, and Newport. Description: Neskowin, Oregon is a little known town located just north of Lincoln City. It was originally referred to by local natives as Nestugga (or Nestucca) called "Woods," the area was eventually abandoned. Neskowin as it became known means plenty of fish; reports in the early 20th century note that the waters were black because of the abundance. Settlers eventually came in 1886, when a sailing vessel filled with wheat and lumber ran aground. It remains to this day a quiet spot on the coast, largely unchanged since the early 70's.
