Description: Olive Oyl is a legendary cartoon character best known as the long-time, fiercely loved girlfriend of Popeye the Sailor Man.Interestingly, she is actually older than Popeye himself! Created by E.C. Segar in 1919, she was the main star of the Thimble Theatre newspaper comic strip for a full decade before Popeye was introduced as a minor, one-off character in 1929.
