Description: Ma'at is the ancient Egyptian goddess of truth, justice, harmony, and balance (a concept known as ma'at in Egyptian) who first appears during the period known as the Old Kingdom (c. 2613 - 2181 BCE) but no doubt existed in some form earlier. She is depicted in anthropomorphic form as a winged woman, often in profile with an ostrich feather on her head, or simply as a white ostrich feather. The feather of Ma'at was an integral part of the Weighing of the Heart of the Soul ceremony in the afterlife where the heart of the soul of the dead person was weighed in the scales of justice against the feather.

Description: This design is based off a piece of Ancient Egyptian artwork located in The Met. It depicts the god Thoth in his Ibis form standing by the Feather of Maat (or Ma'at). I've recreated the design in my own style making a unique take on "traditional" renderings of Egyptian designs!

Description: This depiction of Sekhmet comes from an Ancient Egyptian menat counterweight. A menat was a type of heavily beaded ritual necklace and the Sekhmet image was used as a counterweight on the back. There are representations of women holding the necklace, possibly shaking them to make noise, during ceremonies honoring the goddess. Here you can see Sekhmet represented as a lion-headed goddess figure. I've recreated this depiction of Sekhmet in my own style based off a menat counterweight located in the Met.
Description: Egbe Bere Ugo Bere is one of the most popular Igbo proverbs that defined the Igbo world view. Biri Ka Mu Biri = Live and Let Live. It is a world of equilibrium. A world that teaches one not to get in-between the life progression of another. In Igbo language, Egbe is Kite, while Ugo is Eagle. both birds are representing Nne Agwu and Eze Agwu.
