Floyd Lawson is the proud proprietor of the shop, and in addition to haircuts and shaves, the shop also serves as a gathering place for many of the men in the town to chat about the goings-on and current events. They often gather there to play checkers and gossip with one another, and women may occasionally enter the barber shop, this is seen as somewhat taboo and is a rare occurrence.
