Description: Portland Rosebuds was the name of two professional men's ice hockey teams in Portland, Oregon. Both teams played their home games at the Portland Ice Arena. The first Rosebuds played in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association from 1914 to 1918. The second Rosebuds The second Rosebuds team was born when the Regina Capitals moved to Portland for the 1925–26 WHL season.
Description: A flock of 13 thousands Vaux's Swifts does a 5-thousand-kilometers migration down America's west coast. Every year those tiny birds do a stop-over in Portland, Oregon, where they all find a place to sleep inside a towering chimney stack. The city of Portland has taken the chimney out of use, realizing its importance for the swifts.
Description: The Portland Mavericks were an independent professional baseball team based in Portland, Oregon. They began play in the short-season Class A Northwest League in 1973, after the Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League left after the 1972 season and became the Spokane Indians. The Mavericks operated as an independent club in Portland for five seasons, until the return of the PCL in 1978, and played home games on artificial turf at Civic Stadium in Portland.
Description: Back in the mid 2000's Munkee Wear had a very Portland-centric design of the Skidmore Fountain on t-shirts. This is an updated version of that. The Skidmore Fountain is a landmark in Old Town part of Portland, most notably where the MAX light rail stops for Saturday Market. It features 2 "caryatid," or basket holders, on either side as seen here in close up.
