Description: Conceived in 1959 by the Smokers Car Club of Bakersfield as sort of an East vs. West challenge, the March Meet (aka United States Fuel and Gas Championships) became much more than that. Held at Famoso Bakersfield Raceway, the event's reputation as the most fierce outlaw drag race brought competitors from coast to coast. Winning the event gave a drag racer immediate caché as the race was that tough to win in its heyday.

Description: Back in the mid '40s, racers and hot rodders Red Wilson and Tony Capana joined forces to start a speed shop in Los Angeles. They called it WILCAP – the first three letters of their last names – and before too long, their shop was well known by gear heads in So Cal and beyond thanks to their innovative products and extensive mail order catalog. In addition to distributing a wide array of speed parts, WILCAP was probably best known for their machining their own line of custom flywheels, transmission adapters, and engine hardware. Eventually, WILCAP was also the place to get nitromethane and alcohol fuels. They made their own custom blends and sold them by the gallon and by the barrel, making getting out to the track that much easier.
Description: Founded in 1930, Dinoco Oil, formerly known as Dinoco Gasoline, is an international gas and oil company of fossil fuel owned by Tex Dinoco, and one of America's most popular and consumed products. The company has covered lots of events, including 2006's Dinoco 400 for the Piston Cup. The company is also Strip "The King" Weathers', Cal Weathers', and Cruz Ramirez's sponsor in the Piston Cup Racing Series.
Description: John Schlieper’s legendary Schlieper’s Speed Shop in Brookfield, WI, built engines for everything from modifieds and USAC race cars to top fuel dragsters and all out baja race trucks, but also turned out plenty of mills for the occasional hot rod and street fighting muscle car.
Description: Red Devil Racing Fuels were formulated in Los Angeles, exclusively with gasoline product out of the El Segundo Refinery from genuine California crude. With advertising that played on variations of 'hotter than hell,' their smoking devil was a common sight around the west coast drag strips, both on fuel drums and decals on drag racers. While others made various octanes, Red Devil only made their 110 high test which was known to be a good 5 octane higher than stated, something that would come back to bite them a few years down the road.
