Description: Great Lakes Dragaway is a quarter mile dragstrip in the Town of Paris, Kenosha County, near Union Grove, Wisconsin. The drag strip opened in 1955, making it the 2nd oldest continuously operating drag strip in the country after Inyokern Airport closed. #1 is Redding Raceway in California, which opened in 1953. In the early days of the track, races were started by a flagman (before drag strip Christmas Trees) and cars sometimes raced four abreast.

Description: On June 22, 1975, the world's top motocross riders converged on Carlsbad, California for the 500cc United States Grand Prix. Description: All cars that go over 150 mph in the quarter mile are required to have and use a chute, and dual chutes are required for those who go over 200 mph. But why parachutes, why not bigger brakes? When it comes to stopping a race car after reaching triple digit speeds on the drag strip, nothing beats a parachute (or two if you're a real monster). At those speeds, even the best of mechanical brakes can't bring the car to a stop without overheating, so parachutes employ simple physics to create massive amounts of drag to help bring these land missiles to a stop inside the shutdown area.
Description: Defend your driveway project with this bold typography built for the unapologetic collector. Ideal for a weekend car meet or grinding in the automotive garage, this chaotic neutral mindset perfectly defines the gearhead lifestyle. Throw this mechanic life design on a heavy sweatshirt to show off your automotive obsession and unbothered attitude.
