Skategraphics Shorts
Description: Variflex Skateboards was started by the Losi brothers in 1977 but spent years struggling with an identity crisis as one brother pushed to produce pro-quality boards while the other pushed for mass-market products for sporting goods and toy stores. The mass-market direction seemed to be winning as you could find their boards just about everywhere in the early '80s and to their credit, they were much better than the competition in this space. Sure, they were a little heavier and the graphics were mostly dorky, but not in a cool way, but they were affordable, decent riding boards that ended being many kids' first skateboard.
Description: a bold cartoon skateboarding design that shouts energy, attitude, and pure trick mastery. Perfect for skaters, streetwear lovers, and anyone who thrives on movement and fun. This vintage-inspired graphic blends retro charm with modern edge, making it a must-have statement piece for your wardrobe. Whether you’re on the board or off, let TRICKY MOUSE be your daily dose of style and personality.
Description: Absolute unhinged cat energy. This trippy cartoon face looks like it just saw the universe buffering and decided to vibe anyway. Big fried eyes, chaotic smile, tongue out, and full weird little goblin aura make this design hit like a perfect mix of retro cartoon madness, internet brainrot, and psychedelic poster energy.
Description: Throughout the '70s, competitive skateboarding continued to gain popularity which led to purpose-built skateparks being constructed across America and it should come as no surprise that California played host to the majority of them. Buena Park’s Skatopia was one such example and an upscale one at that. This full service (and fully landscaped) facility was a $500,000 skatepark when it opened in 1977 and without question raised the bar for skateparks and the sport. The facility welcomed countless kids and adults alike who ripped it up on their concrete bowls every day of the week and was the site of numerous championships and competitions over the years.
