Space Battleship Yamato Shorts
Description: IJN Yamato (大和/ヤマト) was the lead ship of her class of battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) shortly before World War II. Named after the ancient Japanese Yamato Province, Yamato was designed to counter the numerically superior battleship fleet of the United States, Japan’s main rival in the Pacific. She and her sister ship, Musashi, were the heaviest and most powerfully armed battleships ever constructed in history, displacing 72,800 tonnes at full load and armed with nine 18.1 inch Type 94 main guns, which were the largest guns ever mounted on a warship.
Description: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first airing of Space Battleship Yamato, Asplenia Studios revisits their 2017 ink drawing in a new, digital drawn and colored, edition. Unlike the original, this variant is formatted vertically, invoking a larger feeling of drama. This version features text in Japanese integrated into the art itself.
Description: Space Battleship Yamato was the title spaceship from the anime series Space Battleship Yamato, designed by Leiji Matsumoto in the 1970s. According to the fictional continuity of the anime series, the spacecraft was built inside the remains of the Japanese battleship Yamato. In the American dub of the series Star Blazers, the spaceship has the same origin, but was renamed the Argo (after the mythical ship Argo of Jason and the Argonauts). In Spanish-speaking countries, its name was changed to Intrépido ("Intrepid").
Description: The United Nations Cosmo Force, the space-based military of the Earth Federation. The UNCF Cosmo Navy, more commonly known as the United Nations Cosmo Navy (UNCN), is a division of the UNCF and has jurisdiction over all military spacecraft operations defending Earth and interests inside and outside Earth's solar system. This UNCF Yamato patch design is a standard service insignia used in several applications for those serving about the Yamato.
