Underground Punk Shorts
Description: Crass were an English art collective and punk rock band formed in Epping, Essex, England in 1977 who promoted anarchism as a political ideology, a way of life and a resistance movement. Crass popularised the anarcho-punk movement of the punk subculture, advocating direct action, animal rights, feminism, anti-fascism, and environmentalism. The band used and advocated a DIY ethic approach to its albums, sound collages, leaflets, and films.
Description: A quirky, vintage-inspired artwork featuring a massive green cartoon lizard lounging casually while holding a red-and-white-striped beverage. The lizard’s yellow claws and sly grin add playful menace, as its long tail wraps around the text “Big Lizard in My Backyard” in bold red letters. The background features a muted yellow sky and a simple suburban fence, contrasting the absurdity of the giant reptile. This punk rock–themed design reflects The Dead Milkmen’s satirical and humorous style, perfectly capturing the offbeat energy of their 1985 debut album.
