Vampira Classic Shorts

Description: Spook Show-style design featuring Maila Nurmi as Vampira, the trailblazing TV horror host.

Description: Vampira was everywhere for about 15 minutes in the 1950s. Then she challenged the might of ABC television and was crushed under corporate foot. A statuesque, blond Teutonic goddess, Vampira (born Maila Nurmi) preferred to run with the weirdos, turning horror costuming into fashion and setting the stage for goth. Nurmi would have turned 100 years old on Dec. 11, 2022. Her birthday was marked with events around Los Angeles, including a gathering at Hollywood Forever and screenings of Plan 9 from Outer Space and Ed Wood at the American Cinematheque. This is the poster I created to promote the various birthday events.

Description: Plan 9 from Outer Space is still a better love story than Twilight. (Are we still making those jokes?)

Description: Vampira - Screaming relaxes me so! If you love Vampira, then this design is for you. Beautiful Maila Nurmi as Vampira the glamour ghoul. Give as a gift to a horror movie fan or cult movie lover. This design of Vampira is perfect for Halloween as well.

Designed for fans of classic horror, vintage television, gothic aesthetics and mid-century design, it brings together elegance, mystery and cinematic atmosphere in a contemporary minimalist composition.
