I saw this beautiful Paphiopedilum orchid, Hellas Westonbirt, at a local orchid show. Paphiopedilums are often called "slipper orchids" because of their unique pouch.

This funny Western design features a pair of well-worn cowboy boots and the phrase, Forget Glass Slippers This Princess Wears Boots, within an old west-style frame. Great gift for equestrians, horse lovers, horseback riders, pony lady, Western or English riders, girls who love horses.

This quirky humorous graphite drawing on these great products is titled “The Slipper After The Dog Got To It!” because that’s exactly what it is. When my akita dog was a puppy he wanted to chew everything to bits, so I made use of his conquests and created still life drawings from them. This is my second favourite because I like the fact that it's still recognizable as a dog slipper! There’s also a “Nightie After The dog Got To It” and “The Egg Box After The dog Got To It” in the collection. I think this original image will raise a familiar smile or two from anyone who has experienced naughty puppy behaviour. The original still life drawing of this image is worked in various sizes of graphite pencil.

Walking along the Del Mar Beach in San Diego (one of the most beautiful beaches in San Diego), it is amazing what treasures you see on the beach, whether lost, temporarily left there, or simply washed ashore.
