Description: Search and Destroy, Seek and Destroy, or even simply S&D, refers to a military strategy that became a large component of the Malayan Emergency and the Vietnam War. The idea was to insert ground forces into hostile territory, search out the enemy, destroy them, and withdraw immediately afterward. The strategy was the result of a new technology, the helicopter, which resulted in a new form of warfare, the fielding of air cavalry,[1] and was thought to be ideally suited to counter-guerrilla jungle warfare. The complementary conventional strategy, which entailed attacking and conquering an enemy position, then fortifying and holding it indefinitely, was known as "clear and hold" or "clear and secure." In theory, since the traditional me...
Description: I made this on the question: What does the Doctor see when he/she sees a reflection? Existentially, it must be complicated when you've regenerated so many times and had so many faces. This is one of my most popular pieces online, which means that it had some controversy. Particularly the fact that I seemed to have left the 9th Doctor out. I wanted to include Eccelston. I also wanted to include all the other Doctors, but it wasn't feasible, so I left Easter eggs instead. Apparently, that wasn't enough for some people and they thought I was trying to erase the 9th Doctor from the canon, which is just stupid.
Description: I painted this scene after watching the Deep Breath, the first episode for Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor in Doctor Who's 8th series. The Scene came by surprise and definitely had me in tears, which isn't entirely difficult. I was very attached to Matt Smith's 11th Doctor and this scene made for a great transition - as the 11th Doctor isn't just asking Clara to help the next Doctor, but the audience. The original painting is 36" by 24", oil on canvas. If you're interested, you can purchase the original at http://www.jephwho.com/is%20that%20the%20doctor.html
Description: The Twelfth Doctor is an anomaly. We call him the 12th Doctor, but he's the 13th version of the Doctor. Also, Time Lord biology only allows them to regenerate 12 times, but he was technically the 13th regeneration. (The 10th Doctor regenerated twice and the War Doctor was a secret regeneration. The numbers are all off, but we Whovians accept it because it fits in with the Timey Whimy absurdities of the show.) The Doctor should have died of old age at the end of the 11th Doctor's run when he spent a thousand years on Trensalore. But the Time Lords intervened, using a crack in the universe from the bubble universe that they're trapped in, and granted the Doctor another regeneration cycle, which they can do because this is a show about tim...
Description: Peter Capaldi’s first episode as the Doctor was funny, tense, and very different from previous Doctors. This scene stuck out to me, so I painted it immediately afterwards. The texture of the scene. The gravity of two men unsure of their identity...unsure of who was the monster.
