Description: Warehouse Economy Outlet, (W.E.O), Where Economy Originates, was a discount, warehouse-style supermarket concept that was developed in the 1970s by A&P, and is credited with being an industry first. The original W.E.O. opened in Pennsauken, New Jersey in 1971, and quickly became a successful venture. W.E.O. featured grocery items in their original wholesale bulk packaging at reduced prices. In 1972, A&P expanded this format to 1,500 existing A&P stores; however, the expansion failed as older stores built prior to the '50s were not large enough to stock bulk packaged goods. The tagline used in ads and worn by employees was "I won't stop trying till you say Weeeeeo!" but by 1975, A&P abandoned the concept, so I guess they did kinda stop.
Description: Soul Train was an American musical variety television show that aired in syndication from October 2, 1971, to March 25, 2006. Across its 35-year history, the show primarily featured performances by R&B, soul, and hip hop artists. The origins of Soul Train can be traced to 1965 when WCIU-TV, an upstart UHF station in Chicago, began airing two youth-oriented dance programs: Kiddie-a-Go-Go and Red Hot and Blues. These programs—specifically the latter, which featured predominantly African American in-studio dancers—would set the stage for what was to come to the station several years later, when Don Cornelius would bring Soul Train to TV.
Description: The Charleston Charlies were a Triple-A minor league baseball team located in Charleston, West Virginia. The Charlies played in the International League from 1971 to 1983. The team was the relocated Columbus Jets. In 1977 the franchise was returned to Columbus and Charlies owner Robert Lavine purchased the Memphis Blues, moving the team to Charleston, assuming the Charlies name. The Charlies were affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1971–76), Houston Astros (1977–79), Texas Rangers (1980), and Cleveland Indians (1981–83).

Description: Cirith Ungol is an American heavy metal band formed in late 1971 in Ventura, California. This early doom and power metal group is known for lyrics based on fantasy, particularly the sword and sorcery variant. Throughout the '70s, the band generally played a style of heavy metal heavily rooted in hard and psychedelic rock. Its first studio album, Frost and Fire (1981), featured a heavier sound, generally regarded as an early example of American power metal. By its second studio album, King of the Dead (1984), it had solidified its power metal style while gravitating toward a much darker sound, with many considering the album among the first doom metal releases.
