Description: Dallas is an American prime time television soap opera that aired on CBS from April 2, 1978, to May 3, 1991. The series revolved around an affluent and feuding Texas family, the Ewings, who owned the independent oil company Ewing Oil and the cattle-ranching land of Southfork. The series originally focused on the marriage of Bobby Ewing and Pamela Barnes, whose families were sworn enemies. As the series progressed, Bobby's elder brother, oil tycoon J.R. Ewing, became the show's breakout character, whose schemes and dirty business became the show's trademark.[1] When the show ended on May 3, 1991, J.R. was the only character to have appeared in every episode.

Description: Alpha Beta was a chain of supermarkets in the Southwestern U.S. that operated from 1917 to 1995. Before Alpha Beta was the name of a store, it was the name of a concept used in grocery stores founded by Albert and Hugh Gerrard. It referred to organizing groceries in the store in alphabetical order. The Gerrards applied this idea to their Triangle Grocerteria in 1915 and continued it in Alpha Beta stores well into the future. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the television spokesman for the Alpha Beta used various slogans such as "You Can't Lose" and "The Savings Don't Stop," though every spot ended with him saying "tell a friend." This slogan was also promoted on giveaways like t-shirts and mugs, as well as balloons and shopping bags.
