Description: In the San Diego/Baja region the manzanita is a protected, native plant with sinuous limbs either covered with red bark, or as gray dead wood. We were walking back from Green Valley Falls when the sun was low on the horizon just enough to light up the red bark and green leaves in the thicket. I was inspired to make this artistic rendition of a captured image.
