Akron Socks
Description: This is a modernized version of a logo for the Akron Pros, who were the first NFL Champions in 1920. Featuring Fritz Pollard, the Pros narrowly beat out the Decatur Staleys (the current Chicago Bears) and the Buffalo All Americans. This logo is part of a series looking at defunct NFL teams and how they might look if they had continued success.

Description: USS Macon (ZRS-5) was a rigid airship built and operated by the United States Navy for scouting and served as a "flying aircraft carrier", carrying up to five single-seat Curtiss F9C Sparrowhawk parasite biplanes for scouting or two-seat Fleet N2Y-1s for training. In service for less than two years, the Macon was damaged in a storm and lost off California's Big Sur coast in February 1935, though most of the crew were rescued. The wreckage is listed as the USS Macon Airship Remains on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Description: Otie Smith got his start in drag racing back in 1953, tearing down the strip at the Akron Airport drags in his '32 roadster. Within just a few years, his talent for building and tuning high-performance engines had earned him a reputation throughout the local hot rod and drag racing scenes, leading to the founding of Otie’s Automotive. While Otie continued to spend plenty of time behind the wheel of his own dragsters, he was just as busy in the shop, building custom engines, fine-tuning race cars, and developing some truly unique speed equipment. This design includes a full-color illustration of what is likely Otie's most famous dragster - his 1964 AA/A Dragmaster 23T!
