Atlantic Salmon Ocean Phase Socks
Description: It is a member of the salmonoid family. The farthest inland sockeye salmon travel to spawn is to Redfish Lake, Idaho, over 1,400 km (900 mi) from the ocean and 2,000 m (6,500 ft) in elevation. In the United States, populations of sockeye salmon have been extirpated from Idaho and Oregon.
Description: It is a member of the salmonoid family. The freshwater form of the steelhead trout is the rainbow trout. The difference between these forms of the species is that steelhead migrate to the ocean and return to freshwater tributaries to spawn, whereas rainbow trout do not leave freshwater. In the Pacific Northwest it is considered part of the local salmon family.
