Ax Socks
Description: Archeology and women. Being hired as a draftsman, she achieved secretarial duties and managed to direct excavations. Although her merit has managed to reach our days, she worked alongside her husband since 1896, the archaeologist William Matthew Flinders Petrie. They founded the British School of Archeology in Egypt, but they also made important excavations around Palestine and Jerusalem. To his great work it is necessary to add that he made the search of funds for the excavations and documenting the advances. Here we have the drawing to think of what is seen as an applied and dedicated Hilda climbing the ladder of an excavation.
