Description: The flag of the U.S. state of New Mexico consists of a red sun symbol of the Zia people on a field of yellow, and was officially introduced in 1925. It was designed in 1920, to highlight the state's Native American Pueblo and Nuevo México Hispano roots. The colors evoke the flags of Habsburg Spain (the Cross of Burgundy), Spain and the Crown of Aragon, brought by the conquistadors. It is one of four U.S. state flags not to contain the color blue (the other three being Alabama, California, and Maryland). It is the only one of these four not to contain the color white. The flag of the District of Columbia also has no blue, although it is partially white, making the New Mexico flag the only US flag with no blue or white.

Description: Legend says that when the sun began to die, one warrior was given a single arrow to save the world. Under a blood-red sky, a mighty Aztec warrior draws his bow and aims toward the burning sun. At his feet lies a beautiful maiden, motionless upon the ancient stone, her eyes closed as though she has crossed the threshold between life and death. Was she a sacrifice to the gods? A beloved princess caught in an ancient prophecy? Or the one soul whose fate could determine whether the world would see another sunrise? The warrior must make an impossible choice. If he releases the arrow, he may save the sun and doom the woman he loves. If he lowers his bow, darkness may swallow the world forever.
