Description: The coastal community of Belmar, New Jersey, is a jewel of the Jersey Shore. Visitors and residents alike love Belmar for its beautiful beaches and its small-town charm. Originally hosted by the regional telephone and phone book guys, the first Belmar Beach Sandcastle Contest was held in 1987 and has been an annual tradition every year since.
