Description: One of the biggest events to happen in gaming during the '90s was, without question, The Blockbuster Video World Game Championship in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. With over 200,000 participants, this was one of the bigger events in gaming history at the time, and connected thousands of gamers across the country and the world long before internet gaming became commonplace. Aside from bragging rights, players were vying for a trip to San Francisco, where the winner would become an honorary editor at Gamepro Magazine, private tours of big name game studios, being digitized into an upcoming game title, and a VIP experience with their new friends from Gamepro in a luxury box at a San Francisco sporting event.
