Night Flight was one of the first sources on American television to view full-length and short films not generally aired on network television, or even pay channels. Night Flight was also one of the first American television shows to present the music video as a serious visual art form rather than a mere promotional tool for musicians. Programming included music videos, taped concerts, movies, game shows, syndicated programs, and numerous talk shows. On September 25, 2000, after an attempt to attract younger viewers failed, TNN's country music format was changed, and the network was renamed The National Network, which only lasted a few years before going off the air for good.
