Description: This design was inspired by a visit to the Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia, Spain. The garden originated from the orchard used for the teaching of botanical studies, which created in the 16th century. We were very impressed by the collection of desert plants at the north-eastern end of the Garden: Aloe, Aizoaceae, Crassulaceae, and the succulent flora of the Canary Islands, Aeonium, agave, and cactus to name a few. And of course, the beautiful rose-shaped Echeveria succulent native to the semi-desert regions of Central America. It covered the earth and stones like a dense living carpet forming a unique textured picture changing with the changing of the light. We tried to convey the dusky shaded feel in this artwork.
