Description: Harlem's legendary Cotton Club was located on 142nd Street and Lenox Avenue, and operated during Prohibition, featuring the most prominent black entertainers in the world at the time, including Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington, Chick Webb, Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, Lena Horne, Dorothy Dandridge, Sammy Davis Jr. and Billie Holiday. Francis Ford Coppola made a gangster film about the club in 1984, and featured in hits like Celia Cruz' "Oye Como Va" and Kool and the Gang's "Joanna."
