Description: Without question, Re-bar was one of the Seattle's most historic nightclubs, hosting countless local and touring bands over its three decade run. Born into the grunge scene in 1990, the building it called home at the foot of Capitol Hill was built in 1930, and certainly playing into the venue's quirky charm. When it wasn't hosting live music, this anchor of the alternative arts scene presented work from local artists, theatre and comedy, and held rocking dance nights. Re-bar was routinely filled to the brim with hipsters, freaks, geeks, artists, gays, intellectuals, punks, rockers, ravers, and clubbers – a true showcase of the eclectic diversity of Seattle. The fact that they made some mean cocktails was just the icing on the cake.

The area became the epicenter of the grunge movement, with local acts bringing a raw, unpolished sound that reshaped mainstream music and culture. Neighborhoods like Capitol Hill and the University District buzzed with independent record stores, coffee shops, and all-ages venues that fostered a DIY ethos. At the same time, Big Tech was fueling economic growth, hinting at the tech boom to come. The mix of rainy skies, thrift-store fashion, and creative energy gave Seattle a distinct, influential identity that defined the era and one that has now been lost to 'progress.'
Description: The year was 1994—a good time for music, and an especially good time for music in Seattle. Indie bands were playing, and people actually wanted to hear them; national and global acts were touring and actually wanted to stop in Seattle and THE place to play was the Moe or more formally, Mo'Roc'N Café. The design celebrates the long lost Club Moe with it's vintage clown logo which might seem a bit odd, but was right at home with the venue's eclectic interior design. Featuring plenty of cracks, chips and fade, Mo'Roc'N Café tee looks like you snagged it back in the day at a Mudhoney show or something.

This was an era when state liquor laws required bar areas to be separate, which is the reason behind Charlie's odd dual-entrance setup. While laws changed, Charlie’s welcoming vibe and famous Pepper Pot Soup stayed the same for nearly 40 years.
