Description: The 307th Engineer Battalion was first constituted on 5 August 1917 in the National Army as the 307th Engineers and organized at Camp Gordon, Georgia 27 August 1917 as a unit of the 82nd Infantry Division. This unit participated in 3 World War I campaigns: Meuse-Argone, St. Mihiel and Lorraine. It was demobilized on 17 May 1919 at Camp Dix, New Jersey.

Description: The 307th Engineer Battalion began its existence as a Regiment, the 307th Engineers, that was constituted on 5 August 1917 in the National Army and assigned to the 82nd Division. During World War II, the Battalion would fight in six campaigns, earning a coveted Arrowhead device for three of the streamers by participating in an assault landing. The Battalion has been deployed on numerous occasions in defense of the country, including two Armed Forces Expeditions (Dominican Republic and Greanda), Southwest Asia (often called the First Gulf War, and two both Afghanistan and Iraq in the War on Terror. After being inactivated and relieved from assignment to the 82nd Airborne Division in June 2006.

The unit was activated on 1 March 1943, at Camp White, Oregon. The Battalion served in five campaigns in the Second World War: Normandy (streamer with arrowhead indicating participation in the initial assault), Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. After the Second World War, the Battalion was inactivated on 18 October 1945, at Camp Shanks, New York.

Description: C/307th Engineers with the 505th Parachute Infantry deployed to the Republic of Vietnam on 13 February 1968 to help blunt the Tet Offensive. For nearly 2 years C Company performed combat engineer missions during combat operations in the Hue/Phu Bai area with the 505th Parachute Infantry. In December 1969, C Company returned to Fort Bragg. Company C, 307th Engineer participated in 7 campaigns

Description: The 3rd Engineer battalion was located in Korea until November 1953 at which time they transferred to Japan to remain there until January 1954. The battalion then returned to Korea to remain until October 1957 at which time it was transferred to the Department of the Army. On 1 July 1958 the 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion was redesignated the 3d Engineer Battalion and the battalion was deployed in Bavaria, Germany as part of the 24th Division, the “Shield of Bavaria.”
