Description: Zbigniew Herbert was one of the essential Polish poets of the twentieth century and one of the main artists who opposed communism in Poland. Some of his famous works are Mr. Cogito, Epilogue to a Storm, Elegy for the Departure, Report from the Besieged City and Other Poems, etc.
Description: The t-shirt expression “I Do Not Think Therefore I Do Not Am” is a humorous and ironic play on the philosophical statement “Cogito, ergo sum” by René Descartes, which asserts that the act of thinking proves one’s existence. The t-shirt expression suggests the opposite, that the lack of thinking negates one’s existence. It may also be seen as a critique of Descartes’ idea of self and suggests that identity and existence are more complex than mere thinking.
