The name for the product was derived because of the common folk wisdom that an elephant never forgets. Elephant was founded in 1980. The brand was originally devised as an inexpensive, mass-market product, and its imposing pachyderm logo paired with bright yellow packaging, which was in stark contrast of the more conservative silvers and blues used by competitors. Investors feared this would undermine the credibility of the product, however, Elephant would become viewed as a premium product, eventually becoming one of the highest-margin floppies on the market and one of the best-selling media brands in history.

Description: Dunjonquest is a single-player, single-character fantasy computer role-playing game published by Automated Simulations in 1979. Temple of Apshai is the first and most successful of the Dunjonquest series and is a long form game spanning four dungeons with more than 200 rooms with detailed descriptions. Unlike most RPGs, it has no specific goal, and the player merely explores the eponymous temple to amass treasure and gain experience. Initially published for the Commodore PET, Temple of Apshai was also ported to other period PCs, and ultimately was published for more platforms than any of the other Dunjonquest titles.
