Description: The Edmonton Cracker-Cats were a shambolic independent baseball operation that arrived at Edmonton’s Telus Field in the spring of 2005 in the wake of the departure of the Class AAA Edmonton Trappers of the Pacific Coast League. The Trappers left town the previous fall to move to Round Rock, Texas. The Cracker-Cats were an expansion team in the Northern League, an independent circuit based in the American Upper Midwest that also featured a popular franchise in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Cracker-Cats were part of a dual-pronged geographic expansion to Alberta in 2005 that also included a new team for Calgary, another Alberta city that had also lost its Pacific Coast League franchise in recent years.
Description: The Portland Mavericks were an independent professional baseball team based in Portland, Oregon. They began play in the short-season Class A Northwest League in 1973, after the Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League left after the 1972 season and became the Spokane Indians. The Mavericks operated as an independent club in Portland from 1973 to 1977.
Description: The Kansas City Katz were an amateur team in the Ban Johnson League sponsored by the Katz Drugstore, a beloved chain in the Kansas City region during the first half of the 20th century. The Ban Johnson league was an amateur organization for youths under 21. Named for the late Bancroft Johnson, who for many years was president of the American League, the Ban Johnson movement began in Kansas City, Mo., in 1928, when the Kansas City Junior League was renamed in Mr. Johnson's honor.
Description: The Norfolk Elk Horns or the shortened "Elks" was a primary moniker of the minor league baseball teams based in Norfolk, Nebraska between 1914 and 1941. The Norfolk minor league teams played as members of the Class D level Nebraska State League1914–1915, 1922–1923), Tri-State League (1924), Nebraska State League (1928–1938) and Western League (1939–1941). The Norfolk minor league teams hosted home games at Athletic Park. The Norfolk Elks were a St. Louis Cardinals minor league affiliate in 1936. Norfolk played as an affiliate of the New York Yankees from 1937 to 1941 and adopted the Norfolk "Yankees" moniker in 1940.

They were a member of the North Division of the independent Golden Baseball League, which is not affiliated with either Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball. From 2006 to 2008, they played their home games at William Peccole Park, on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno.
Description: The West Palm Beach Expos were a Florida State League minor league baseball team which existed from 1969 through the 1997 season in West Palm Beach, Florida. The team was a Class A affiliate of the Montreal Expos and played their home games at West Palm Beach Municipal Stadium.
