Description: Burma-Shave was an American brand of brushless shaving cream, famous for its advertising gimmick of posting humorous rhyming poems on small sequential highway roadside signs. Burma-Shave was introduced in 1925 by the Burma-Vita company in Minneapolis owned by Clinton Odell. The company's original product was a liniment made of ingredients described as having come "from the Malay Peninsula and Burma" (hence its name). Sales were sparse, and the company sought to expand sales by introducing a product with wider appeal. The result was the Burma-Shave brand of brushless shaving cream and its supporting advertising program. Sales took off. At its peak, Burma-Shave was the second-highest-selling brushless shaving cream in the United States.

Description: Screaming Yellow Zonkers were a snack food, first produced by Lincoln Snacks in the USA in the 1960s. They were popcorn with a yellow sugary glaze, in a distinctive black box. Lincoln Snacks asserts that SYZs were the first food item to be packaged in black. The box contained humorous copy, such as suggestions about what to do with Screaming Yellow Zonkers, or that 8 oz. (226g) = 1/4,409 of a metric ton. (This comic content was provided by Allan Katz and Howie Kraków who wrote the copy on the first several boxes, and the award-winning TV and radio campaigns.) The box was designed by Rollin Binzer, co-owner and creative director of HBC.

Description: Johann Braun opened City Brewery in 1846. Valentin Blatz established a brewery next door in 1850 and merged both breweries upon Braun's death in 1852.[2] In that year, Valentin's little brewery produced 350 barrels of lager.
