Description: Mel's Diner in Phoenix, Arizona was the setting in the TV show, Alice, that aired on CBS from August 31, 1976 to March 19, 1985. The series is based on the 1974 film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. The diner exterior footage was all shot at the actual Mel's Diner on Grand Avenue in Phoenix, while the interior was all shot on sets in Burbank. This version of the Mel's Diner design includes a realistic vintage treatment to give it true retro look like you picked it up back in 1976.

This version of the Doggie Diner design includes an embellished version of their original logo. Description: Post-war America and new super highways brought about a new-found interest in traveling, so roadside diners started popping up in key locations from coast to coast. One such place in Elkton, Maryland on the freshly completed US 40 was the Elkton Diner, a modern deco style eatery which also played host as a Trailways bus stop. Positioned almost dead center between New York and Baltimore, Elkton Diner was a popular stop for highway travelers for years before being consumed in a fire in 1962.
Description: Sitting in the heart of the valley between the Modesto and Merced at the intersection of State Route 99 and State Route 165, Turlock, California is a small town with a decent-sized population – close to 70,000. Latif’s Restaurant & Fountain opened their doors in 1960 in the heart of town on Golden State Blvd. and has been in business under several owners and a minor name change or two ever since. From the authentic ’60s decor and world-famous pies to a chair where George H. W. Bush once sat and classic American fare, not much has changed in six decades and that’s just how people like it.
